Derby to cash in on start at 11-4
Derby County can provide their suffering fans with a semblance of cheer by avoiding a twenty-seventh Premier League defeat of the campaign when they host Arsenal on Monday evening. Bet365 and Betfred offer the Rams at 11-4 in receipt of a one-goal handicap start and, with the visitors seemingly assured of a third-place finish, that appears fair.
Derby, whose relegation was confirmed last month, have given their supporters little to cheer in a season that that has seen them win just once, and not since Paul Jewell’s appointment as manager in late November.
With the clock running down, Jewell will be anxious to placate the home support before the season’s close and has a good opportunity against an Arsenal side that is likely to see many changes after the collapse of their title bid.
Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager, is set to hand young Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski his Barclays Premier League debut and has indicated he could give some of his fringe players a chance to impress at Pride Park.
Brazilian teenager Denilson may be pressed into action as suspended winger Alexander Hleb is one of several first-teamers unavailable.
