Go to war with Beauchamp Warrior

Beauchamp Warrior (3.40 Bath) rates the pick of this morning prices at the 16-1 offered by Ladbrokes and William Hill.

From a late-maturing family, he showed enough promise in three starts as a juvenile to suggest that he will be able to take advantage of a lowly mark in handicaps this season.  He looked one-paced when fifth on his debut over a mile in a maiden at Musselburgh, and again found the same trip too sharp on his next start on the all-weather at Lingfield before not being given a hard time when finishing a never-nearer seventh at Kempton last time.  That run qualified him for handicaps and, with William Buick taking a handy 3lb off, he is expected to step up considerably on previous efforts.  Beauchamp Warrior rates decent each-way value at 16-1.

Font (4.20 Wincanton) is also worth supporting at 3-1 with Ladbrokes.  He found the combination of a slow early pace and a sharp track an insufficient test of stamina when outspeeded by Turfshuffle at Newton Abbot last time and is fancied to reverse that form on 6lb better terms here.

Give Rob a break for goodness sake, you fickle friends. Stick with him for the long term - his consistency over the years is second to none. Don't forget, it's the search for value that is the key. He is not responsible if you bet more than you can afford to lose!

Blimey - a 9-2 winner from two tips yesterday and Rob gets a load of flack. Sure, the other one was well beat but I was still well ahead. Cheers!
