Rangers to take Sporting chance
Rangers can justify an interest at 23-10 with William Hill to beat Sporting Lisbon in their UEFA Cup quarter-final first leg at Ibrox on Thursday evening.
Although Rangers rode their luck in the away leg to Werder Bremen, a 1-0 defeat was still good enough to see them through given their 2-0 victory in the home leg.
That was a good effort against a decent outfit, and a repeat of that home form should see them victorious again here.
Sporting know all about British sides, having squeezed past Premier League strugglers Bolton in the previous round, and they will be heartened by their performance at the Reebok where an away goal in a 1-1 draw gave them the advantage in the tie.
A late goal in the home leg finished the job with a 2-1 aggregate success. However, Bolton rested a number of players in the second leg and Sporting have not pulled up any trees in their domestic league this term - they have won their past two league games but are still only fifth, 20 points behind leaders Porto.
Sporting are a stand-out 3-1 with VC Bet - Ladbrokes are just 2-1 - with the draw a general 9-4.
