Settle for no thrills at Anfield
Liverpool and Chelsea do not make a habit of scoring goals against each other and that trend can continue when the pair clash in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at Anfield tonight.
The pair have played each other six times in this competition in the past three years and those clashes have yielded just three goals. Three of the ties finished goalless, while the other trio were won by a single strike. There have, of course, been significant personnel changes since the Premier League duo crossed swords at this stage of the tournament last year - when Liverpool won on penalties - but that failed to prevent them battling out a 0-0 stalemate at Stamford Bridge, in the league, in February. Another cagey match, with both teams cancelling each other out in midfield, looks highly likely this evening. With that in mind, the general 1-2 offered against the match producing two goals or fewer looks pretty solid, while the 6-1 quoted against no goalscorer (own goals do not count) is also fair. The best bet of all, though, could be the 15-4 (almost 4-1) that Blue Square offer against the match being level at half-time at full time.
