United can seal deal at 2-1
Manchester United have been the best team in the Premier League this season and look overpriced, at a general 2-1, to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and all but clinch the title.
A draw, chalked up at 11-5 by most firms, would serve United’s purposes but Sir Alex Ferguson’s men usually go for the jugular and, with Chelsea having little option but to go for victory, the door may be open for them to tidy up their domestic matters and then concentrate fully on the Champions League.
Chelsea have not lost at home in the league since the 2003-04 campaign but have been fortunate to preserve that record this term - drawing six times.
Avram Grant has come in for more criticism than he deserves, although the fact that Chelsea’s goal difference is 18 goals inferior to that of United is quite revealing.
Both teams boast solid defences and industrious midfields, but it is United who boast more flair and a greater attacking threat with such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez among their ranks.
This trio have, between them, managed 78 goals this term and it would come as no surprise if one of them proved to have the final word. Ronaldo is 2-1 with Coral to score at any time and will be keen to make amends for his penalty miss against Barcelona on Wednesday.
