Desert Hawk can swoop late
Desert Hawk (5.25 Yarmouth), twice a winner over course and distance last year, is a good bet to add to that tally at 6-1 with Ladbrokes and William Hill.
In need of his first two runs this season, Desert Hawk shaped with much more promise last time when a staying-on fourth on turf at Southwell. That should have put him spot on and, 2lb lower than when last successful, he can see off Formidable Guest, who has yet to prove that he is as effective on turf as on the all-weather.
Haigh Hall (7.35 Beverley) is fancied to overcome a poor draw. She looked a classy prospect when a ready winner of a decent maiden on her debut at Thirsk, quickening up well once asked, and should again have this race run to suit with the trailblazing pair of Percolator and White Shift likely to set a strong pace from their high berths. That should set the race up for Haigh Hall, who rates a decent bet at 3-1 with Coral and Paddy Power.
