Torquay to land draw in play-off
Torquay can secure the draw they need to progress to the Blue Square Premier play-off final when they host Exeter in the second leg of their semi-final on Monday.
VC Bet are best at 12-5 about the sides ending all square, and backers should note that this is a 12.30 kick-off.
Torquay take a 2-1 lead into the match courtesy of a last-gasp Chris Zebroski strike after he had charged down a clearance from the Exeter goalkeeper.
The goal did nothing to improve the mood of the Exeter camp, who had seen their side make most of the running. Yet even then they had to draw level, a Wayne Carlisle goal with 15 minutes remaining cancelling out a first-half Tim Sills effort.
The result may have been harsh on Exeter, but Torquay had worked tirelessly to contain the hosts and will consider their luck well earned.
For Exeter, their task is defined in that only a win will do. They will point to a year ago when they overcame a first leg deficit against Oxford, but Torquay are tough to overcome at home - 15 wins and three draws from 23 outings - and are likely to deploy similar tactics to the first leg.
They will be happy to keep things tight and Exeter’s recent away form - two wins and two defeat from their last five matches — suggests that the visitors may come up just short of the required victory.
Remarkably, VC Bet offer the best price about all three outcomes, putting in Torquay at 23-20 and Exeter at 13-5.
