United stay in pole position
Manchester United have been installed 6-5 favourites to retain their Premier League title next season.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men overhauled Arsenal this campaign before staving off the late challenge of Chelsea.
The bookmakers expect a similar story next term. Chelsea are a best-priced 5-2 with Bet365 to take their revenge, with Arsenal quoted at 5-1 by Skybet. Liverpool, generally 7-1, are the only other club quoted shorter than 66-1.
Stoke City are 7,500-1 to claim the title, with Skybet making them 1-2 to be relegated. West Bromwich Albion (4-5) are also odds-on to go straight back down and the team who come up via the play-offs can also expect to be a short price to struggle.
Paddy Power now make Hull City evens to take the third promotion slot, with Bristol City 2-1. Crystal Palace are 7-2, with Watford 14-1.
Birmingham City and Reading are both 7-4 with Ladbrokes to win promotion from the Championship but Derby County, who endured such a miserable time, are 7-2.
Meanwhile, Avram Grant is still odds against being Chelsea manager at the start of next season. Ladbrokes make him 11-10 to be in charge and 4-6 not to be.
