Hamilton cut to 6-4 for world title
Lewis Hamilton is 6-4 from 3-1 with Coral to win the world drivers' championship after claiming his first British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday.
The victory brings 23-year-old Hamilton his first points since winning at Monaco in May and moves him up into a three-way tie in the drivers’ standings alongside Kimi Raikkonen, who finished fourth at Silverstone, and Felipe Massa, who took no points from a nightmare race.
Coral make Raikkonen, the reigning champion, 5-4 favourite to retain his crown, with Felipe Massa 7-2 third best.
David Stevens, spokesman for Coral, said: “The pressure was on Lewis Hamilton going into this race, but winning his home Grand Prix in difficult conditions has reignited his championship challenge. Considering he was the home fans’ favourite, we’ve actually got off quite lightly as there was plenty of support for his team-mate, Heikki Kovalainen, and that softened the blow of Hamilton winning.”
Coral bet: F1 Drivers’ Championship: 5-4 K Raikkonen, 6-4 (from 3-1) L Hamilton, 7-2 F Massa, 16-1 R Kubica, 80-1 N Heidfeld, 100-1 H Kovalainen.
