Nadal at 11-10 to end Federer's reign
Rafael Nadal should be backed at 11-10 with Paddy Power to break Roger Federer’s stranglehold on the Wimbledon men’s championship and claim his first All England Club crown on Sunday.
The Spaniard has developed into a formidable player and, having taken one set from Federer in the 2006 final, and two in a thrilling five-set climax to last year’s championship, can now go one step further and clinch his first title.
Whilst Federer’s dominance on grass has been unquestioned in the past, Nadal now seems almost as comfortable on the surface as on his beloved clay. And, with the upper-hand in recent encounters between the pair, winning each of their three matches this year, latterly dishing out a 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 drubbing in the final of the French Open, Nadal is entitled to be optimistic of his chances.
Federer is 8-11 with Paddy Power to add a sixth successive title. He was recording his 65th consecutive triumph on grass when beating Marat Safin 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 on Friday but faces arguably his toughest test of recent years.
Paddy Power bet 9-10 each of Federer and Nadal in a market on which player will be the first to break serve. They bet evens that the game features 38 games or less; 4-1 39-44 games, and 7-5 44 games or more.
