Ryedane can roll back the years
Ryedane (6.10 Redcar) is slowly coming back to form and rates a fair each-way bet at the 5-1 offered by Coral.
Although now a six-year-old, he does not seem to be losing any of his speed and he caught the eye at Musselburgh last time when a staying-on fourth over an inadequate five furlongs. Back up to his optimum trip and off a 4lb lower mark than when last successful, he will be hard to keep out of the frame.
At Newbury, Dazzling Light (9.00) also offers a solid each-way bet at 9-2 with Betfred. A half-sister to the classy Balkan Knight, she shaped really well when a staying-on third to Sevenna on her debut over ten furlongs here and is sure to relish this step up in trip.

I've got a theory after yesterday's 9-2 win with Fistral. That was described a "cracking each-way value". That was unusually positive so i've gone back a couple of months to see what other tips have had a similarly positive comment. Here are the others i found
Baharah - excellent bet - unplaced
Film Festival - cracking value - 1st, 7-2
Film Festival/Gallantry - each-way double is a cracking bet- both won for a 19-1 payout
Macdillon - excellent each-way value - won at 9-1
Silver Rime - terrific each-way value - 3rd, 6-1
Strawberry Moon - cracking each-way - 3rd, 9-1
Mr Aitch - banker material - 1st, 3-1
If Rob just says it's a fair/decent/solid/whatever bet i'd give it a swerve. So i'm ducking today's tips and waiting for a stronger comment, which seem to come along about once a week. Any thoughts?

Friar Tuck, i assume that if Rob said "putting your head under water and breathing in is a brilliant idea" you'd go for it!?

'Ryedane (6.10 Redcar) is slowly coming back to form' - slowly being the operative word. There were too many negatives for me to back this one, whereas I went in big on Fistral as I fancied him strongly (it was close in the end though). Robin, your summary makes interesting reading. I think the search for value is the watchword - the blog is called Pricewatch after all - but you shouldn't go in blind on some of these selections. It is reassuring, however, when Rob's language is unequivocal and you can sense the confidence. Mr Aitch and Film Festival, for instance, have been two of my biggest bets of the year and both had strong recommendations. So I try to be patient, be selective and wait for a good'un. Let's hope that Rob can find a few! A final thought: does anyone have a problem backing one of Rob's tips against one of his previous unsuccessful selections? An example is running tonight in the Haydock 8.30, Murcar against today's next best Capal Dubh Alainn. I still fancy Murcar e.w. and besides, Tim Pitt's yard is out of form. The fact is that shrewd judges like Mr Wright sometimes pick horses that are not quite ready to win that day. For what it's worth finally, I think Look Here in the Leger at 8-1 is extraordinary value. There should be honey for tea that day!
