Hook up with Fisher at tasty evens
Ross Fisher looks the pick of the opening-day three-ball bets at evens with Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Coral to outscore playing partners Damien McGrane and Paul Lawrie when the Portugal Masters gets under way in Vilamoura on Thursday. The trio tee it up at 1pm.
The big-hitting 27-year-old secured his maiden title in the KLM Open last season and has continued his progress this time, winning the European Open at the London Golf Club and, latterly, securing his second runners-up placing of the campaign when losing a play-off to Robert Karlsson in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Fisher’s defeat in Scotland extended a purple patch that has seen him post four successive top-tens. Moreover, he showed he could go low at Vilamoura in the inaugural Portugal Masters 12 months ago when rounds of 68, 64, 68 and 71 saw him finish the week on 17 under and secure a share of seventh behind Steve Webster. McGrane and Lawrie respectively finished 13 and 14 shots back in 64th and 67th. Both have had their moments this year, but neither has shown Fisher's consistency.
