Brazil can serve cup of cheer
Brazil can win the Confederations Cup for the second successive tournament by beating the United States in Sunday’s decider.
While best odds of 4-9 (Boylesports) may not appeal to all, Brazil can be backed at 11-10 with Paddy Power to be ahead at both half-time and full time and that appears fair.
Brazil were far too strong for the U.S. when they met in the group stages, running out comfortable 3-0 winners.
And, while South Africa gave them a tougher examination in the semis on Thursday, with Brazil needing an 88th minute goal from a free-kick by Daniel Alves to beat the hosts 1-0, it will be no surprise to see the goals flowing again this weekend. Kaka, Robinho and Luis Fabiano offer coach Dunga’s team a wealth of flair in attack.
The United States had looked to be heading out of the competition after losing their opening two group matches until they beat Egypt 3-0 last Sunday and Brazil sank Italy by the same score, allowing the U.S. to squeeze through on goal difference.
The Americans did not waste their opportunity when ending Spain’s 35-match unbeaten sequence with a 2-0 win in the last four but it is doubtful whether they can hit the same heights again.

Many commentators in Ireland (where I live) were mad for South Africa to go through...but the thing with Brazil is that even playing badly they still beat less traditional teams. When individual talent is needed we get through. The final will not be as easy for us but we'll win.... score: Brasil 2 X 1 USA - Alan the Irish/Brazilian !!
