Hills alive to City targets
William Hill are offering odds of 5-2 that John Terry will quit Chelsea to join Manchester City by the first day of the new season.
Graham Sharpe, spokesman for Hills, said: “Terry has to decide whether to leave the capital city for the new Capital City.”
Hills make the England skipper 2-7 to stay where he is and that appears much the likeliest option with Chelsea having made it clear that Terry remains integral to their ambitions, and the 29-year-old’s commitment to the Blues cause remaining as strong as ever.
With City seemingly intent on further bolstering their squad, Hills are quoting odds on the cash-rich club signing other high-profile players before the start of the season. They bet 11-8 that they sign Eto’o, 5-1 that Alexandre Pato moves to Eastlands, and 8-1 that Rio Ferdinand switches Manchester clubs.
Hills have cut City’s Premier League odds from 33-1 after the end of last season to a present 20-1.
They have opened a book on where they will finish in the division, offering 10-1 that they will be runners-up; 5-2 third or fourth; 5-4 fifth or sixth, and 12-5 seventh or lower.
