Sri Lanka v England, live commentary from 0500GMT

Get the kettle on, wipe the sleep from your eyes and settle in front of your screen with a chocolate digestive as England's tour of Sri Lanka gets underway with the first day's play in the first Test.

Richard Neale is primed to guide you through the over-by-over commentary, promising not to get too eye-poppingly excited when Muttiah Muralitharan break's Shane Warne's world Test record of 708 wickets or red-faced with fury when Kevin Pietersen runs one of his colleagues out. Again.

It promises to be fascinating, so follow the action here from 5am.
