Debate: Should Chelsea sell Lampard?

After two years of contractual negotiations with Chelsea, Frank Lampard has rejected a four-deal worth £130,000 a week that would make him the highest-paid footballer in Britain.

Lampard's agent, Steve Kutner, has implied that the England international will leave for Inter Milan unless Chelsea offer him a five-year agreement.

Is that a fair demand from a 30-year-old? Is he really that good? Should the club not call his bluff and cash in on him before his contract runs out next summer?

Have your say in the comment box below.

if you are asking to be the highest paid player in the league and to have that money guaranteed until you are 35 there should be some reasonable probability that you will be the best player in the league until you are 35.

i think one of the primary reasons frank has so many fans who dislike him is that he comes off as insincere. when you kiss the badge after every goal and announce over and over that you want to always be at chelsea and then turn down a contract that will take you past your 34th birthday and make you one of the five highest paid players in the world, there is reason to wonder what your real agenda is.

i'd rather keep ballack, who has consistently supported his manager and the team and who scores the big goals in the big games.

Lampard professes to love Chelsea & want to end his playing career there yet continues to hold the club to ransom both over the length of contract & the salary? Chelsea would be best off selling him to Inter rather than see him walk in a year & line his own pockets under the Bosman ruling. I have a strong feeling that Frank will be the loser in swapping the EPL for the negativity of Italian football; more so in that it is hard to envisage the explosive Mourinho being at Inter for the full 4 years of the contract Inter has supposedly offered to Lampard?

Sell Lampard? Not for a measly 9 million. If the truly awful Crouch is worth 11 million, then Frank must be worth at least 25 million. Ante up, Inter, he'd be a bargain at twice your current offer!

Hi guys, In my opinion chelsea must sell lampard to inter. Lampard has already 30 years old and now chelsea has ballack (similar to lampard) an deco(great player) in the same position. The solution will be to sell lampard or ballack beacuse both three can't play together.

I'm from Milan, I'm a fan of Inter. I hope to have Lampard here, but now I just want to say that is bad when a football player and his team make war for a transfer.
There are so many more important things in this world.
Ciao England!
