Send your well-wishes to Seve Ballesteros
Seve Ballesteros, the man who restored the pride to European golf, has confirmed he has a brain tumour and this is where you can wish him well.
The flamboyant Spaniard led the way for a golden generation of European golf, bursting onto the scene at the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in 1976, where he finished second as a 19-year-old, before going on to win the Open in 1979, 1984 and again at Royal Lytham in 1988.
He won 94 titles, five majors, six Orders of Merit and four Ryder Cups, but it was Seve's panache, his heart-on-sleeve emotion and his brilliant shot-making that the public adored.
Arguably the moment that he will always be remembered for came on his way to winning his first Open Championship in 1979. After his tee-shot at 16th at Royal Lytham found the overspill car park, Seve carved a miracle three-wood on to the green and holed out for a birdie. A legend was born.
The world of golf has responded to news of Ballesteros's illness. Jose Maria Olazabal, Seve's Ryder Cup playing partner, visited his great friend in hospital and said: "I thought Seve seemed very well. We were talking for a good while. I wish him a speedy recovery."
Miguel Angel Jimenez added: "Seve, we love you. We hope you recover as soon as possible."
Sam Torrance, a Ryder Cup team-mate of Seve's, said: "It's tragic news, he's one of the best-ever players. I have many fond memories of playing with him and against him. I was on tour before he started and I was on tour after he finished, so I was a witness to his glorious career. I hope he gets better."
Send your comments to the great man below, perhaps recounting your favourite moments of his incredible career.
Seve. You can beat this. You have always been a magnificent inspiration, long may it continue. All my very best wishes. Julie. West Yorkshire

Fight. And in the same time, breathe and try to enjoy every moment of pleasure and joy, they are part of the cure! And read Dr Servan-Schreiber's book about cancer (he had a brain tumor too). There are plenty of useful and interesting tips to learn and adopt. Be confident, we are many to recover!

Seve. I was fortunate to see you play many times in the 1980's when you were in your prime, and you are by far the best player I ever saw. It was such a thrill to see you in full flow and I couldn't believe you didn't win every tournament you played, as you were so much better than the rest. Your fighting spirit is legendary, and we have never seen you give up and you will win this battle too. Still struggling to come to terms with this news of your illness, and just want you to know our thoughts are with you all the way and look forward to seeing you fit and well again.

Dearest Seve,
We grew up playing golf, my first memory of you was watching the 1985 Ryder Cup at the Belfry, that was then which made us love the Ryder Cup by watching you and Tony Jacklin celebrating the European win!!
You also sent my brother a signed photograph, when he requested to play a round with you!!
It was a very sad day when we heard you were retiring last year, its even sadder knowing you are suffering. You have always been our hero and we will be wishing and praying that you will soon be back doing the things you love to do. We cannot wait to see and hear you commentating again for the BBC!!
We hope that you received our card last week? When we first heard you were in hospital.
Hurry back Seve we miss you dreadfully!!! xxxxxxxxxx

Dear Mr Ballesteros, I was diagnosed with an "Astrocytoma" brain tumor in January 2007. I had radio therapy which made my hair fall out (now regrown)and recently I had a course of chemotherapy. Throughout all this I had the wonderfull support of all my family and friends and never gave in to the dark thoughts of "cancer". My wife from day one said WE will get through this. You must not give in either. Best Wishes Gordon Robinson

Seve,
It was in the late 70's at Augusta and there was a rain delay. I was in the pro shop waiting it out and looking at some wedges when someone came up from behind and gently took the club from my hands and said "Good wedge play is in hands." I looked up and it was you. I will never forget the time you took to speak a word of encouragement to me, a total stranger.

I first saw you at the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth in 1991 where you beat Monty on the first extra hole after hitting it to 2 feet from 195+ yards what a sight for a 16 year old golf mad kid to see, pure inspiration! I then waited for an hour for you to appear out of the press tent for a signature; you didnt dissapoint, i even got a handshake. I like most people were a bit star struck to be honest, you are a hero for life. You have given me and most of Europe and probably the world so many inspirational memories of countless victories at The Open, European Tour Events, PGA Tour Events, Masters and not forgetting you and Olly at nearly every Ryder Cup in the 80's and 90's giving the Americans a pasting, they couldnt cope! Hello Seve, I turned 40 last Sept and 5th January 08 I was diagnosed with exactly the same condition. I had an epileptic seizure in my kitchen at home and when I was taken to hospital for a scan I was told I had a meningioma tumour. I waited till 13th Feb 08 to have 95% of my tumour removed at Coventry Hospital, UK; and those 5 weeks where the worst of my life. I was very fit before the operation as I have been pole dancing for the last 6 years, and that helped. Keep the smile on your face and a positive attitude (which helps the nurses in the ward) and you will pull through. I am still not back to work but my fitness is getting better and can spin on the pole again! Good luck and lots of love Pam from Droitwich xxx

Dear Seve,
My family and I were so upset to hear your news. We all send you our best wishes and prayers for your health. I met you as a young fan years ago and have never forgotten your graciousness & kindness. Your integrity and passionate enthusiasm towards all your endeavours was always so inspirational to me. Over the years your supporters travelled all those courses with you as you charged over them on your way to whatever 'destino' had in store that week, and we admired the way you would so often make your own triumphant destiny in the midst of near-impossible situations. May you continue as you always did, with strength & courage, and may you have a full & complete recovery. All the very best to you. Anne, Australia.

Seve, I did not have the privilege to watch you play during your fine playing days since I was too young however after growing into a full force golf fan especially one of the Masters and Open Championship I have seen many fine players and many fine gentlemen but none of them come anywhere near to yourself. You have been a true inspiration and I still think back of how fortunate it was for me to miss my train in Liverpool to see you play your final Open. Wish you the best. Jared from Hawaii

Seve,
You have always been my inspiration as far back as a 13 year old learning the game in the late 70's and even to this day find it hard to avoid golfing conversations which don't involve something you either achieved or personally witnessed you perform.
If there is a positive to this news it is that you can be witness to the love and kindness the golf world have for you.
I join those people in wishing you a full recovery and dream of the day when we see you involved in the game in some capacity again,
With Affection,
Mark

Seve,
Peter

In the words of Dylan Thomas:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light....
Of all the battles you have won now comes the pinnacle, there is no doubt that you will come out victorious, you have the heart of a winner, a graceful one, we wish you a speedy recovery and wait to cheer you on in years to come, God be with you.

Hi Seve if ever you doubted what you mean to us I hope that all the mesaages of support and love you are receiving show you what we think of you.
Just dont give in no matter what just do not surrender.
My favourite memory of you, there are so many but one in particular I wish to recall is the final hole of the 1984 Open and your reaction as your putt fell into the hole.
Your celebration became legendary, and it still gives me goosebumps when I see it replayed.
You believe in destiny,be assured dear Seve that your are destined for still greater and better things.
Believe,Have Faith,You Are Invincible.
Lots of love and good wishes.
