Master Lim to the rescue with the ultimate summer party dress.
We know we bang on a little bit about Philip Lim, the man behind the cocktail dress looking good at a party near you right now. But he and his dresses really are worth banging on about. And today, finally, the showstopping final look from his Spring Summer show goes on sale at Net-a-porter.
The ultimate summer party dress, it's chic and minimal but floaty and sexy all the same. It's not exactly chucked away at £1,155, but it looks a whole bonus load more expensive, and mark our words: It. Will. Work.

so relived i am not the only times reader who thinks the dresses and prices are unrealistic for us mere mortals, please times journo's - GET REAL (unless you are on commission from the designers?) maybe the penny has dropped............

The model looks a delight! But to be realistic it would be nice if you would have shown some affordable comparisons. As a regular reader of the Times, I am on an annual salary of 16K PA and with living expenses soaring I will be very luck to be able to purchase the belt! I do understand that the Times has an image to uphold but what about showing us something we can actualy afford to purchase.

a grand is a bit pricey for a white floor sweeper. maybe it might pick up the odd dropped tenner off the floor along with the dirt and dust.

Yawn. Yet *another* Gemma Soames completely out of touch article. I'm fed up with you Gemma. Every single one of your articles is devoid of any intelligent journalism or awareness of The Times readership. You constantly give stupid examples of things to wear or hold that cost thousands. You don't add any value whatsoever, it's got to the stage where I see your name and instantly switch off. You're hopeless and totally out of touch, and how you still manage to have a column in The Times I will never know.

I suppose it's all right if you're tall, thin, look good in white, have a thousand quid to spend on a dress that someone will spill red wine on the first time you wear it, and don't mind looking like you've just left someone standing at the altar.
Get real, Gemma.

Looks a load more expensive than £1,155 ??? I think that is highly debatable given that a lot of people I know would not have even heard of this designer! Personally it looks like a sack bundled together - yes the stunning model looks good in it but hardly a dress for everyone. And white doesn't suit many people. Get real! I think some of the fashion writers in the Times need to start to realise that most of us live in the real world!

£1155. You Times fashion journalists are on another planet.
