The high street rules too!
Who would have thought that a frock could provoke so much fury! Last week, I posted a blog on this new dress from Philip Lim.
It was the final, showstopping piece from his Spring Summer show - a proper, full length and full on big ticket item. And it seems to have rattled a few cages. Well, not 'it' necessarily - but it's pricetag, weighing in at a hefty £1,155. Now, I know that a grand is a lot to spend on a dress. And I know that a lot of us simply cannot afford that (myslef included.) But I also know that there are plenty of women out there who might, on on special occasion, for that one special dress, spend that money. And for them, and anyone else interested in taking a look at a bit of high fashion for interest's, inspiration's, fun, schadenfreude or just plain jealousy's sake - that dress just might be worth a look.
But, I have read your comments and I hear you. Of course the High Street is where most of us shop - sitting here in Primark and Converse, it is most definitely where I flash the cards. Of course the vast majority of us aren't going to rush out and spend a grand on a dress just because it looks kinda pretty. And, luckily for all of us, there is plenty to be found that won't break the bank, but will break a smile or too. So here are some I've found that come in at all sorts of price points. And I've put them up here because I think they're all worth a look, too.
