The ten commandments for bloggers
Church leaders, alarmed by the vitriol pouring forth from religious weblogs, have set down ten blogging commandments. They range from the admirable (5) to the entertaining (10) to the optimistic (7):
1. You shall not put your blog before your integrity.
2. You shall not make an idol of your blog.
3. You shall not misuse your screen name by using your anonymity to sin.
4. Remember the Sabbath day by taking one day off a week from your blog.
5. Honour your fellow-bloggers above yourselves and do not give undue significance to their mistakes.
6. You shall not murder someone else's honour, reputation or feelings.
7. You shall not use the web to commit or permit adultery in your mind.
8. You shall not steal another person's content.
9. You shall not give false testimony against your fellow-blogger.
10. You shall not covet your neighbour's blog ranking. Be content with your own content.
Suggestion for others will no doubt be forthcoming...
I always abide by what I call the Smack in the Mouth rule.
If saying something about a person, face to face, would earn me a justifiable smack in the mouth, then I don't say it online.
Far too many bloggers are happy to heap abuse and calumny on the fellows from the safety of their keyboards, which they'd never dare to do face to face. That's cowardly.

Damn - that should read "on their fellows," not "the fellow"s.

11. Give other bloggers a fawning pat on the back and tell your readers how important they are. Then sit back and bask in the link love as they return the favour.

"Thou shalt not spam comment threads" seems to be missing.
