Is your blog x-rated?

Whats_my_blog_rated

A quick shout out to all the bloggers in the house.

Just in case I've underestimated our Culture Secretary, and the government do introduce legislation that will require every website to display a film-style rating, you should use this service: "What's My Blog Rating?"

It will tell you whether your blog is fun for all the family or only suitable for lonely men in hats.

Here's our certificate:

Apparently, in our postings we've mentioned the word "fart" twice, and "sex" once. That was before I wrote this post - which, with its mentions of the "f" and "s" words, has become the most explicit in the history of Tech Central. Apologies for the filth.

Not so great for rating a blogs esp as its jsut relying on keywords.

The very well written NHS Blog Doctor has the same rating as The Devils Kitchen, Both NC-17.

Why because the good doc used the word breast 36 times as he talked about Breast Cancer, while the Devil got it for just generally saying "fuck" a lot.

But it does do a good job of pointing out how uselss and ill thought out this latest brain fart of an idea is by the Culture Sec.

Entertainingly, I was completely unable to get an R rating on any website I fed that rating service- whether it be hardcore pornography, Jihadi and fascist forums.. Nothing. Can't get over NC-17. Clearly I lack imagination!

Another committee for Labour to appoint supporters to fill so they can read all internet web-sites and issue them with a rating, and guess what? Those with an X-rating will be the most popular, so it will pay to put in a few naughty words, etc. Personally I have a list of people especially on TV to whom I witch off as they are foul-mouthed but then I am 71 years old and used to better, genteel days.

is a blog a website?

I can imagine my blog would immediately get a high rating for swearing - subject matter's all very tame but sometimes when describing a bad day at work the expletives come out!

Whoever came up with this blood-stoppingly inane 'Solution' obviously has no concept of how the internet works.
