Ol Man River

Got my first glimpse of Glenn McGrath in IPL action last night, as the Delhi Daredevils held their nerve for a third win in four outings. How many could bowl at 125 km/hr and still be so potent? His figures of 4 for 29 were the best in the competition so far, and he won each little battle. Batsmen who struck him for fours would have an illusion of dominance, only for reality to bite with a delivery that bounced a little more than expected, or was just wide enough to induce the mistake. Cricinfo has more on the man whose mastery of the basics is beyond compare.

Glenn McGrath continues to be as good as ever. Perhaps it is time to come out of retirement!!

You don't need to be an Englishman to say how evil the Mugabe regime is. Just some common sense is enough, really. It also helps having a bit of compassion.

1. Australians - most man on the match awards by miles, even domestic players like Marsh play amazingly, hell even Katich plays a blazing knock opening the innings.

2. Couple of Indians make twits of themselves and amazingly the IPL show the ICC how it's done - Lalit Modi does something good!

3. Dileep never fails to drone on about how Sachin, Dravid, Kumble and VVS are so dignified and great, etc.

4. Most English journalists having been sceptical have all been convinced by the IPL, and convinced it's here to stay - read the new head cricket correspondent (Michael Atherton) of The Times piece on it.

5. Zimbabwe - hmmm,is there anything you can say in their defence?...millions unaccounted for...independent audit not published...vote takes several weeks to count...in the meantime lots of opposition beaten/arrested/ threatened. So that's all commendable right?

6. So Huyen, you obviously have a problem with the truth.

7. Dileep, can someone please figure out how a 37/38 year old medium pacer is performing like he is?...I just can't fathom it...I know he's a champion all time great and all that...but this is 20-20 on flat decks...just flippin amazing.

dileep, you constantly wax eloquent about the australians and knock the indians. you write even about a rip-roaring sehwag innings with a "what if..?".

congrats. you are now an honorary englishman.

all you have to do now is say how evil the mugabe regime is and demand that zimbabwe be thrown out, and berate and ignore the ipl in turns.

how many pieces of silver are you getting?
