Was this weekend the Premier League title decider?
Arsenal moved five points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Premier League with last night's 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Emirates Stadium. Arsene Wenger tried to play down the significance, saying of his side: "We still have 12 games to go ... it's far from being over."
But is that the merest hint of a smug grin tickling the Frenchman's lips in the image above? And judging by Sir Alex Ferguson's sourpuss features following United's 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, he, too, can sense the pendulum has swung very much in the Gunners' favour.
Chelsea's 0-0 bore draw with Liverpool all but ended their faint hopes of a third championship in four years, so was this the weekend the title destiny was decided? Is there any way of hauling back Arsenal or are they home and hosed? Will the crushing weight of a derby loss at Old Trafford be too much for United to overcome? Or have Ferguson's reigning champions got enough in the locker to retain their crown?

I do not think the championship is decided yet despite the cushion Arsenal have got for themselves. However, there is going to be more pressure on Man U and Chelsea to win all their remaining games. Arsenal needs to avoid losing more than one or drawing too many!

Wenger knows. 5 points is a good launchpad but as Wenger said with 12 games left its far from over.

All that has happened is that we can afford to lose one or draw two more games than Utd. Hardly home and dry, especially with Chelsea lurking close behind too. A five points gap is nothing over 12 games.

just a quickie about the best league in the world how many players from the last two world champions were involved in this super duper weekend of not very nice football?
mmm thought so

Yes.Arsenal play better football and have a better team. United have two outstanding players, and a team of ordinary players, some of whom are too old for top flight football.Fergie should have renewed properly like Wenger did. He has never properly replaced Roy Keane, and so the decision to play Scholes rather than Hargreaves on Sunday was baffling.

I thought it was settled in moanure's favour when we dropped points to Birmingham...look where we are now...but with 12 games to go no one is calling anything settled...there also seems to be the spectre of a double on the horizon possibly for someone.
