Did you enjoy the FA Cup Final?

Portsmouth defeated a brave Cardiff City side at Wembley to lift the FA Cup. Did you enjoy the game? Did it have enough quality and drama for the neutral? It was an even contest, but would you have preferred to see a big four side taking part? Has Harry Redknapp's success in winning a major trophy iced the cake on the most romantic competition in years? We want your say. Add your comments on the FA Cup Final.

Yes, it was a more than welcome change and all the more enjoyable for having two of the other teams competing, not sure about their fans but most of us are sick to death with them.

I watched every minute and it was great to see two teams who cared so much about winning the Cup.
It certainly wasn't the dullest final ever, last year's bore was way ahead. (Or is that behind?_
Nothing against Cardiff but I can't help feeling that Barnsley would have had more of an attacking threat.
When did the 'We love Harry' campaign conquer the nation, by the way? He's gone from jobbing manager to everyone saying how great it would be for him to win something.
Nothing personal but it's not as if he invented Total Football.

Might I suggest pausing for a moment and casting our thoughts back a year to the 'showpiece' first Wembley final, Chelsea v Man Utd. Quite possibly the worst game of football ever played, with little atmosphere as the two teams are so used to playing each other and all the fans were frankly more interested in the just recently concluded title race. Pompey - Cardiff was a refreshing change and while it wasn't a thriller, it was a country mile better than last years drab offering!!

I hadn't watched an entire Cup Final for many years because of the boredom created for a neutral by the big four. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was especially pleased for people like Harry Rednapp and David James, both experiencing their first FA Cup triumphs. Here's hoping we can keep the big four out more often...

I do not really believe that "Portsmouth defeated a brave Cardiff City". I believe Portsmouth were poor in possession but were never going to concede against Cardiff. Hence the match was over when Kanu scored which resulted in the worst FA Cup Final I can remember. At least the winners were happy though!

Probably a little biased but I really enjoyed the match and had a fantastic time even though my team lost. As a Cardiff fan I think It's great to see a whole new generation of young fans wearing Cardiff City shirts supporting local heros not much older than themselves. Hopefully the exploits of Cardiff, Barnsley and Portsmouth etc. in this years cup will remind people there is more to football than mega money arsepool utd.

Doesn't matter who the teams are or what the game was like ,the cup final is the cup final.

Fantastic setting, carnival atmosphere, the opening BBC commentary stifled the ground pa announcement, it was confusing & distracting for the tv viewer.
The match was clearly a huge success for Harry, grandchildren & Pompey folk but it did not in terms of quality / entertainment meet my needs. It was as dull as the stuff in the ditch, it did not live up to the hype.. yes it had its moments...& the south coasters will be in orbit...but from where I sat... well I'm still waiting... did I really view a Cup Final?
