On Thursday Edgar asked: In which European country have the past four finals in the main domestic cup been contested by the same teams, with those two sides also finishing as the top two in the league for the past three seasons?

Answer:
Italy. Roma and Inter have contested the past four Italian Cup finals. Inter won in 2005 and 2006; Roma in 2007 and 2008. Inter have won the past three Serie A titles, with Roma runners-up each time (in 2006 Juventus came first, AC Milan second and Fiorentina fourth but they were all punished for involvement in the scandal relating to refereeing appointments).
