Hillary's Breakdown
It's odd that some people seem to think Hillary's choking-up on Monday might have been fake. It was very evidently genuine - and that was what was so utterly horrific about it. It was the most egregious demonstration of self-pity since Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard raged against the idea that she was no longer up to being a movie star: " I AM big. It's the pictures that got small!"
It perfectly typifies the entire Clinton apparoach to this election. If you watch the whole clip you'll see the real point she was trying to make:
I've worked so hard for you. I've made so many sacrifices for you (all that pizza!). I've put myself out there for my country. And now you voters dare to tell me you don't want me. How could you? (sniff)
Hillary is going down in flames here in New Hampshire. There's an even chance that she will be humiliated by Democrats and independents voting for Barack Obama in vast numbers on Tuesday.
Then what does she do? Quit? Not a chance. She and her husband have been working for this restoration for the best part of a decade. They won't go quietly. Their only real hope now is to appeal to working class Democratic voters who are probably more worried about the idea of an African-American candidate than the well-educated progressive modernists who have elevated Obama so far. The Clintons of course will not suggest that voters should not choose someone because he's black. But expect to hear a lot about Obama's lack of "electability". It could get very ugly.

I am not a huge fan of Hillary Clinton, and would only really want her to win as a way of getting Bill back. However, it seems to me that personal dislike of her affects how she is viewed by the American media. What is wrong with breaking down? She has worked hard to achieve and it must be tough to see it all falling apart.
Having said that, I hope Obama wins. Whether this represents real change remains to be seen. The social views of the vast majority of Americans makes me lose the will to live, and makes me realise that more than an ocean separates the super power from Europe.Come on America, if this is the greatest country in the world, one can only dread what the worst must be like! Have a little humility.

You are dead on point. It is refreshing to read the truth!
