Mr Clinton loses his cool

Blog_hstrange_2_3 The strains of the campaign trial seem to be getting to Hillary's other half. Questioned by a reporter about a lawsuit being brought by Clinton supporters in Nevada unhappy at the creation of casino caucus sites, the former president's normally slick media persona began to crumble. The reporter's follow-up - whether the complaint might be related to the recent endorsement of rival Barack Obama by the Culinary Workers' Union, representing many casino staff - sparked a furious outburst. Someone's in trouble with the missus....

Well, Bill Clinton was pretty argumentative, but Mark Matthews was not terribly professional about the way he went after Clinton. I am an Obama supporter, but to call this clip Mr. Clinton loses his cool is extremely stupid.

The news has suddenly turned into pure opinion and entertainment, abc is the same as fox. manipulating stories and interviews to get the results they desire. very unfortunate.

Posted by: Renata Hocking | 18 Jan 2008 06:18:52

I'm an independent, but it appears that for the fist time in many years, the Clinton's are facing the pressures of not being in the winning seat! Having the Clinton's back in the WH, would be like having another Bush in the WH. No matter who you analyze this twosome, they're not looking out for you and me, so why would anyone every, defend these two people again. If you study HC's policies, you would find out that this is a huge power trip and Bill is along for the ride.

In the words of Bill C."Give me a break!"

The Clinton campaign is old and smells of the same tired old politics of Bill. Not that he was a bad leader in his time, but times have changed, and there's nothing new that Hillary can deliver. Time for new thinking, time for Obama.

Posted by: Dickey | 18 Jan 2008 19:37:04

I agree that having the Clinton's back in the White House would be worse that having Geroge W. Bush do another term. Hillary is on a HUGE POWER trip - her ego makes me sick.

Posted by: Pa tWilliams | 19 Jan 2008 22:57:11

Typical of the Clinton machine. Occassionally their true colors come through. And as for 'new thinking', and 'time for Obama', well I'm not willing to pay for everyones health care, especially illegals, oh excuse me, undocumented workers. I work hard to be able to care for my family, others can do the same.

Go Fred!

Posted by: Joe | 20 Jan 2008 00:46:56

Hey, Joe. Fred's good and all but start thinking McCain. Where character counts, he's tops. As an aside, the Clin-tones are just sickening. I hope Hillary wins the Dem nomination. I want to see her do down in flames and shuffle back to that Senatorial seat of hers. She can participate in all the Public Service she wants . . . from there.

Posted by: blinkdt | 20 Jan 2008 18:25:41

I think what Bill Clinton has done for America and part of the world is great, but I also think he does injustice to himself and his legacy by attacking Obama and speaking so harshly of him. He should let his wife speak for herself and her campaign - I thought she wanted to be President??

Posted by: jon shawn | 21 Jan 2008 23:25:17

How disappointing. Sorry but isn't this clip meant to show Bill Clinton 'losing his cool'? Yes he looks tired but I think he seemed pretty reasonable. Sadly, this is just lacklustre hype. The journalist isn't credible, he's too biased - sorry but the issue here isn't a political one at all. This 'report' seems more suited to utube than the Times.

Posted by: Independent Maggie | 22 Jan 2008 11:11:17

Sorry, I didn't see a "furious outburst" from the former President. If you mischaracterize that exchange, it makes me wonder about the rest of the story as well.

Posted by: Wayne H | 27 Jan 2008 02:17:19

Just how many more body blows has Bill Clinton to endure?
When Obama's misogyny is aimed at Hillary, not a word is printed.
When Bill defends her, he is branded a racist.
There is no way on earth anybody could convince me he is guilty of that particular vice.
Regardless of his human flaws Bill Clinton was a two term President who left a legacy of a very healthy budget, which unfortunately has been squandered by the present Republican government.
Do what you do best Bill and fight the good fight!

I can not wait until Billary is out of the race. Please get rid of her! I will never vote for her!

Posted by: Ann | 13 Feb 2008 04:49:52

I don't see in this clip any evidence of Clinton "losing his cool".

Posted by: DS | 13 Feb 2008 10:47:46

HILLARY SKIPS SOME STATES BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT THINK THEY ARE IMPORTANT; SHE BELIEVES MORE IN THE CONNECTION OF HER HUSBAND TO USE HIS SUPERDELEGATE CONNECTIONS. SHE MAY BE PRAYING FOR ALL THAT BUT GOD HIMSELF IS WATCHING...

FOR ME, I REALLY DESPISE ANY MAN THAT THINKS THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND HIM - THE CLINTONS TAKE US ALL FOR PAWNS. IT'S SAD, VERY SAD THAT WE HAVE THE AMOUNT OF SUPPORT SHE IS GETTING EVEN AT THIS MOMENT FROM WHONEVER ... IT'S DESPERATELY SAD !

Posted by: MUBAI | 13 Feb 2008 15:48:08

Hillary makes me so sick when she hugs and kisses her husband. Doesn't she have any pride? After all, her husband was a cheater and he still probably is.If she's the president she'd better watch him or shouldn't allow him in the oval office specially if he wants to go smoke a cigar in there. I'm sick of the Bushs and Clintons for the last 20 years. We need someone new in the WH.

Posted by: S Kirak | 13 Feb 2008 21:03:01

"Hillary makes me so sick when she hugs and kisses her husband." Well aren’t you the sweetheart! And a happy Valentines day to you: O

I used to believe that the President should be elected by popular vote until I saw the public support Bush not once but twice. Now in this election I am reading the most inane reasons people have for voting, he's seems nice or she did not divorce Bill.

I totally understand now why we need to have delegates choose for us. American voters are idiots... I really hope the super delegates make up for everybody voting for Will Smith because he is smooth.

Happy Valentines Day to your poor husband or life partner...

Posted by: Frank | 14 Feb 2008 15:00:06

I'll take McCain or Obama. But don't give me Hillary!!!

Posted by: Champagne | 26 Feb 2008 02:01:41

I didn't think that Mr Clinton lost his cool. He was plainly stating the facts. I personally think the whole caucus thing was a bunch of baloney. Taking a small group of voters and sticking them in a room and making a decision for the whole state on such little turnout is ridiculous. They should have allowed everyone to vote at the polls and not seclude it like this. I found it to be hugely unfair not only to the candidates but also to us voters.

Listen to the actual subject matter and maybe you would understand why people are so passionate about this kind of stuff!

Posted by: Mendy | 26 Feb 2008 02:17:30

Why doesn't Hillery just go home and scrub floors and leave us all alone?

Posted by: Steve Ford | 26 Feb 2008 02:40:19

Unfortunately the majority of the American people are idiots, I call them cows. More than happy to herd around each, eat, and pass gas. Especially now when all of the news stations are more apt to entertain than to inform. Do you want proof? Tune in to any news station and you will see their biased "reporting" one way or another. To all the cows reading this, please inform YOURSELF on the candidates and vote for him or her because of your own beleifs, not that of CNN or MTV. And if you choose not to, please do the rest of us a favor and dont vote at all. I hate to realize that one idiots vote can cancel out a well informed person's.

To the guy who said:
I'm not willing to pay for everyones health care

Dude, you're paying for health care in Iraq! Every injured Iraqi needs care -- who do you think picks up the tab?

Cost of Iraq war per day: $195 million.

That's by VERY conservative estimates, most believe it's much higher.

Hello Readers...

I read many of the comments posted about the article here on Bill Clinton...you people are really clueless...about Bill Clinton.
You ought to read more.
Or do you just read Democratic Party line books?
Look, that man is a New World Order, Jesuit trained Globalist...and the two of them are Illuminist Witches...
you need to all do a little research on these two people.

Hitler held babies, and was touted in his own country as a good leader up til he was killing 6,000,000 Jews.

Mr. Clinton has raped, pillaged and done more damage round the world, than most in his capacity as President of the USA.

His incursion into Somalia, my birthplace, was an utter disaster.

His wife did all the behind scenes with China and many others while he was in power.

He took advantage of more vulnerable women, while in office, than most mob leaders in their time.

Many have mysteriously died, just associating with the man.

Hillary's health care was rejected by 54% of the American people while Bill was in office.

Not counting, their own marriage, which has stayed together for one reason: to get back into the White House through Hillary.

Come on people, get a brain.

As to Bill's little explosions on screen, it's an every day occurrence; why should you be shocked at it?
She's the same way...I've read that she calls Jew's Mother------- at the top of her lungs.

Nothing suprises me when it comes to these two,
If you want the world to laugh, just vote her in.

The coverage here (UK) seems to continually refer to Obamas campaign as being all about image and no substance while nothing negative is said about Clinton.

If you look at the speeches you'll see Clintons are nothing but crowd pleasing variations on "hello !!" and "You're the best audience in the world".

I reckon there's always a move by the media to keep all elections and delegates in balance in order to generate more advertising revenue. If Clinton was to drop out now, there would be quite a few less millions spent on campaigning.

It amazes me that we have a candidate campaigning for the office of President of the US who is the wife of an "Impeached" ex-president, who cheated on her, lied under oath, and hotwheeled NAFTA through Congress and she is using him as a spokesperson? How does this look to the world? I challenge you, ask our allies.

FREE TRADE IS GOOD.. SO, WHY IS NAFTA and WTO so bad for AMERICA ??
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First I should inform you that I worked as An Industrial Engineer for Rockwell International for over 30 years. The Cost of Wage comparison is exact what I worked on all my life.

I have been a Republican all my life but, I will never vote for another Free Trading Politician of either party, who wants to FREE TRADE with any third world country. Where the wages are 1/40th of the wages paid to American workers. I call this the AMERICANS WAGE RUSH TO ZERO.

I believe in FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS, but only with countries that have a comparable wage scale as America. Countries like Canada, England, France, Germany, Japan and America should have their own Free TRADE AGREEMENTS. REMEMBER ALL FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS ARE NOT EQUAL.

If you are an International Company and you are given a choice of paying your Manufacturing Workers $100/day or $2/day which are you going to chose? Remember America is not allowed to level the wage playing field by imposing an IMPORT TARIFF because this is forbidden by NAFTA and WTO laws.

Naturally you’re going to chose paying the lower wage, that’s the Problem America faces as a member to NAFTA and WTO. So, all the higher paying jobs are moved to China. Then all Companies must move to China to compete.

All the Republicans have pushed this FREE TRADING IDEA since the 1980s. But, they could not pass these free trade agreements because most of the Democrats did not believe in free trade with all third world countries.

Then Democratic President Bill Clinton came to power in 1992 and in 1993 Bill and Hillary Clinton both conspired with all the Republicans to totally destroy all of the highest paying blue collar jobs in America by Creating the Free Trade Agreements called NAFTA and WTO. I wonder how much money Big Business paid them for this act of TREASON ? I think Hillary wants to send the rest of the higher paying jobs to China that Bill missed back in 1994.

Now you’re asking yourself why free trade is so bad. Well the answer is NO it is a great idea if you FREE TRADE with countries that have similar wage rates and benefits, like Canada, England, France, Germany, Japan, and America.

But, when you let all these third world Countries where the wages are 1/40th of the wages paid to American workers trade under the same trade agreement, you got big trouble if you’re an American worker.

Here is why this can never work:
The very first time one of these large International Companies closes one American factory and moves the manufacturing operations to China to save company manufacturing cost, every one of the other American manufacturing companies must also do the exact same thing to compete. This is a never ending process, where America in time will loss its entire manufacturing base to the lowest paying third world country, which is now China. We have Bill and Hillary Clinton to thank for this.

There is an ever big reason why we must get out of these free trade agreements and that is because China is a communist country that twenty-five years ago the American Government wouldn’t permit any American company to even sell them a computer.

Look at China now; they make nearly every item sold in America. But, make no mistake about it China is still a communistic country. What if Communist China decides to nationalize all the American factories that were moved to china? What the HELL are we to do about that? You know this very thing just happened in Venezuela a few weeks ago and they are not a Communistic country.

Whether we like it or not America is much along the road to losing its entire manufacturing base for ever. I am not so sure this can ever be reversed thanks to all these free trading American Politicians of both parties.

Do you know what they call a country that has no manufacturing base and they have no control over its currency when it starts fall; “THEY CALL THAT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY”. Watch the U.S. DOLLAR and you’re going see America in crisis, one after another.

When America signed NAFTA and WTO all these large International Companies started to earn a lot of money from that cheap China labor. The American Stock Market, Dow Jones Industrial average advanced from 1,000 levels to near 14,000 levels.

America will end up losing everything if this trend is not changed; all the large International companies make a lot money and then buy-off the American Politicians. This is the way it has been working for 25 years.

From 1994 to 2007, net manufacturing employment has declined by 3,654,000 jobs during this period.

WHAT THE HELL ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SMOKING? ARE WE GOING TO WAIT TILL AMERICA BECOMES A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY?

SO, GOD Please HELP US AGAIN… So Mote it Be.
