Younger than McCain
If John McCain triumphs in the coming US election, he will become, at the age of 72, the oldest president in the country’s history. It is a sore point for the Republican nominee, who has accordingly dragged his sprightly nonagenarian mother Roberta around the campaign trail to impress voters with his family’s longevity and good health.
Now, despite the recent pledge of Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean not to use his advanced years as ammunition, a senior Democratic operative has gone on the offensive over the issue.
Steve Rosenthal, who has been involved in every Democratic presidential effort since 1972 and was an advisor to Bill Clinton’s campaign, has created the website Younger Than McCain, a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at old things that are nevertheless - you've guessed it - younger than McCain.
Says Rosenthal: “John McCain comes from another time, an old war-horse stuck in the past with an old-world view of things. Just for fun and to put into some perspective just how old McCain is, we started compiling lists of things that to most Americans seem really old, but they're still younger than good 'ole John McCain."

Puhleeeezee Don't Fault John Mc Cain for his age.
72 is Not old...If your an Oak tree!
John told us he remembers when Seven-Up was Five and a Half...When the sign in front of Mc Donalds Said; "Over 160 Sold".
I heard a Rumor Noah almost chose him to be the Helmsmen on the Ark?
Anyway we need to concern ourselves with Hillary "Pinocchio" Clinton..Who's nose gets longer everyday.
Oh Yes and Barack Like Sgt. Schultz on "Hogan's Heros" always saying "I Know NOTHING...NOTHING". What a Group...Maybe our friends the Brits will let us Borrow Prince William or Prince Harry They got more Class then the others..What do you think?

So what?
I will be glad when this is all over, and the intelligent world can just get back to the normal hobby of hating the U.S President no matter WHO it is.

As a 72 year old woman, it pains me as it does many of those in my age group, that John McCain is made fun of and considered irrelevant to the future of our Nation. Who could be more of a survivor than John McCain. I am a supporter of the youngest candidate, Barak Obama, not for his age but for his wisdom and desire for peaceful resolution to conflicts. We cheer the Popeand rightfully so. One whose ability to face his challenges after two heart attacks is amazing (81) and yet, we humorize and minimize McCain's dedication to our Nation.
Politics can be competitve, but it doesn't have to demonize or devalue another human being.

For the first time ever Iam supporting a Republican to be President. McCain is liberal on domestic issues and tough on matters of foreign policy. I dread to think what would happen if either of the Democratic contenders were elected! P.S. age is an irrelevancy

The citizens of the USA will have an interesting choice. A dynamic black man or white woman or a 72 year old WASP from an unpopular party.
If McCain wins, it will say a lot about the fundamental conservatism of the USA.

McCain will win because of three reasons: 1) America will start a war with Iran or at least a serious encounter to promote fear amongst the American people, allowing him to run on his military pedigree, 2) He is just enough better than Bush and 3) the Democrats are the most skilled party in the world at blowing sure things (e.g. Kerry '04, Gore '00).
His age doesn't bother me as much as his glaring weakness in a time when we need someone who will help right the ship here financially (i.e. zero savings, sub-prime etc...), education (75% of US high school seniors can't pick out and name Mexico on a map), and global standing (we need to be a leader that leads because others have asked us to do so, no unilaterally).
