Rivals trade attack ads as Mama McCain weighs in

Blog_hstrange_2 After a week of being pummelled on the airwaves - and accordingly in the polls - by John McCain, Barack Obama is striking back against his rival with a pair of attack ads painting the Republican senator as part of the same old Washington politics. In the first, "Low Road Express", the Democratic nominee attempts to turn McCain's recent attacks - such as the much-talked about "Britney" video - to his advantage, linking such tactics to the Bush/Rove era of smears and character assassination. The second, "Pocket", accuses McCain of being in the pocket of Big Oil at a time when the American people are struggling to pay for fuel.

But it turns out Obama and his supporters aren't the only ones contemptous of the Britney ad. Watch Obama's attack ads, then scroll down for the third video - in which McCain's nonagenerian mother Roberta makes her views known on her son's latest effort.

I know this is rude... but you should read the comments board on Washington Post online, to get a better feel for the ad campaigns and the pulse. The boards are filled with hundreds of political insiders leaking information, and are totally uncensored or moderated, well not totally, you can complain or vote approval. The political comedy and beat reporters all say they checks the political blog comments section. And they change hour to hour, fresh updated material. Anyway, cheers. I live half my year in Islington, half in D.C..

LMAO, Grampy McWarmonger gets bitch-slapped by his own mother. Just what he deserves for a sleazy ad. But hey, what do you expect from a man who calls his own wife the "C" word in public and makes jokes about rape. Hey McCain, go suck up some more to the Christian Right. You're gonna need them.

Lets see how obama is gonna deal with this. A response in kind would be appropiate, as obama's rethoric doesnt always fit the theme or wat people/media want.
Nway i say, TAKE the HIGH road obama

08ama!

It's gonna get uglier (but hopefully more amusing, also) as Karl Rove's smear machine kicks into high gear to get the broad swath of Middle American out to vote against its own interests, yet again.

Just what we need -- more years of failed policies a la Dubya Gump and The Dick.

Video is playing a huge part in this election. The tipping point may be the speed and cleverness in which the Obama campaign reacts to Rove's character attacks.

Democracy in America, 2008 Edition. LOL

Mrs McCain is right. It's too stupid. Then again the majority of Americans are too stupid. They'll probably elect McCain and they're not even embarrassed about electing a moron like Bush, not once, but twice. Doesn't it beggar the imagination?

mccain iz a IDIOT man, bo.

So who cares what Paris' mom thinks anyway? I'm sure she's got a lot more to be ashamed of from her daughter's behavior then that ad.

And of course the ad is kind of stupid. Look at how the press fawns all over Obama. That's the same kind of stupid, and that's the point.

This campaign is about as much fun as getting a tooth extraction and two root canals at the Dentist!

Obama; "We need CHANGE we need to CHANGE things"
(meaning; we need to raise taxes we need to CHANGE from Lower to Higher taxes). "My fellow Citizens..We MUST have Change" (Lady in front row) "Obama you need to change your trousers right now..you have Ketchup Stains in several Spots!). "We need CHANGE"...( But I already Did like Al Gore said..I bought those Funny-looking Lightbulbs now my Electric Bill every month is getting higher and higher!!)"Don't worry my Brother..when I get Done raising your taxes.."The Light at the end of the Tunnel" will have to go out as well. But think positive Bro..YOUR GOVERNMENT will provide you and your family with candles..and if you loose your Home..YOUR GOVERNMENT will give you no Charge...A Huge Two story Cardboard Box to keep the Weather out of your family's life! ("How great thou Art" heard in the background).
On and on and on.....!!

What an abomination! Comparing Obama to Britney Spears!

This is an outrage!!!

Obama is a citizen of the world, not an American!!!!!

I cant wait for the next letter writing campaign telling Americans how to properly vote.

McCain's mother's quote is misunderstood; the interviewer didn't specify the topic, just mentioning Paris Hilton, and Mrs. McCain obviously thought he was referring to some other stunt the infamous socialite had pulled. How could she think her son's ad "was kind of stupid" when she had just said she hadn't seen it?

This is a must read:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html

If the US press is so biased against McCain as he claims, how come this depraved behavior is not mentioned? Every politician in Washington DC knows about McCain’s debauched behavior after he was honored as a POW.

McCain is a real Affirmative Action candidate. McCain would never have been accepted at the Naval Academy if not for his family connections. McCain is the son and grandson of Admirals. McCain graduated fifth from bottom (894th in a class of 899) and still got a flying assignment. What qualifies him to be President of the US?

Obama graduated near top of his class at both Columbia and Harvard. He worked and won scholarships. He was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review.

President Clinton on Obama: "He clearly can inspire and motivate people and energize them, which is a very important part of being president. And he's smart as a whip, so there's nothing he can't learn."

I respect and honor McCain's service to our country, but I do not see any reason to make him president of the US. I love my grandchildren and this country too much.

Too bad most Americans will never get the information contained in the link above given by "White Woman": http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html

The narrative of McCain's opportunism, betrayal, and privilege has been successfully pushed under the rug by the McCain campaign. Instead it's "Attack, attack, attack", directed by Steve Schmidt and Karl Rove -- who got Bush re-elected through smears and lies.

Obama is an elitist. Yeah, right. The Big Lie may win out yet again this November, as the Republicans have always understood how to get power better than the Democrats.
